Alzenau in Bayern (Bavaria), Southern Germany, is one of the eastern outliers of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Region, nestled between the slopes of the Spessart region with its Hahnenkamm (436 m). With 2,600 ha of woodland and 85 ha of vineyards, it has been referred to as “die Stadt im Grünen”. It’s just a short drive on the A45 or trainride away from Aschaffenburg, Hanau or Frankfurt am Main.
