I recently stumbled across one of his projects and realized that I had literally nothing about him in my library: Arthur Erickson (1924-2009), one of Canada‘s prime architects of the 20th century. To remedy this lack I luckily got hold of his self-written work overview „The Architecture of Arthur Erickson“, published in 1988 by Thames & Hudson. The book offers an all-encompassing yet, of course, selective overview of Erickson’s architectural production ranging from the smaller scale of his house designs to the massive university, government and commercial buildings he designed at the peak of his career. The book offers a thematically arranged cross-section of Erickson’s work ranging from his often luxurious residential designs to his massive university and public buildings. An interesting addition to my library and a motivator to get to know Erickson better in the future.
