In general I would say that most Germans probably have never met a Mexican, unless they went to Mexico or the USA on vacation — which is likely with those who travel internationally incl. myself — Mexico was kind of in as a destination in the last decades and many Germans will at least have heard of places like Cancun, Yucatan, Tulum, Acapulco… or Tijuana, Ensenada, Rosarita, entering Mexico from the US end. According to Wiki, there are about 15,000 Mexicans in Germany out of a population of about 80 million, so that‘s relatively few. According to the Federal Statistical Office, most live in Berlin, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Lower Saxony, and the Rheinland.
