Die Universität Mannheim in Baden-Württemberg, Southwestern Germany, is a public research university. Founded in 1967, it has its origins in the Theodoro Palatinae from 1763 and the Handelshochschule from 1907. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs in business admin, economics, law, social sciences, humanities, mathematics, computer science, and information systems – all with an interdisciplinary and international focus. It’s located in the city center of Mannheim and has 12,000 full-time students, 800 scholars, and 800 academic staff. Its social sciences, politics, and business informatics rank nationwide within the Top 3; programs for law and computer science within the Top 10. The 2012/2013 QS World University Rankings ranked it among the best 100 universities in Social Sciences & Management, Accounting & Economics & Econometrics, as well as among the Top 50 for Political Sciences.
