Passau is a town in Niederbayern, also called the Dreiflüssestadt (City of 3 Rivers) because the Donau (Danube) meets the Inn from the south and the Ilz from the north. Population: 50,415, of whom 11,000 are students at the university. The university was founded in the 1970’s and is the extension of the Katholisch-Theologische Fakultät, est. 1622. It’s renowned in Germany for its institutes of Economics, Law, Theology, Computer Sciences, and Cultural Studies.
